Posted on June 16, 2024 By Tristan Tate

Hollywood is mourning a legend! Tom Bauer, the beloved actor who entertained audiences for decades, died at the age of 86. Bauer’s legacy is more than a star; it extends beyond the screen. He founded the Boston Repertory Theater and shared the stage with luminaries like Al Pacino, and his impact on acting is undeniable.

Veteran actor Tom Bauer, who played Dr. Curtis Willard in the 1970s historical drama “The Waltons,” has died at the age of 86. His daughter-in-law, Mary Miller, verified that the actor passed away peacefully in his sleep at home in Los Angeles.

Marsha McManus, Tom’s agent, reflected on his life and highlighted the most essential things. He spoke about his wife, Ursula Bauer, his wonderful performing career, his constant devotion to justice, and the support of fellow actors.

Tom strongly advocated for fair representation for all performers by supporting SAG-AFTRA (Screen Performers Guild, American Federation of Television and Radio Artists). The union sent its heartfelt condolences on its official Facebook page.
