An outstanding rendition of the national anthem was recently given by Master Gunnery Sergeant Peter Wilson, a 29-year active member of “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band. Wilson blew everyone away with his violin performance; he graduated from Morgantown High in 1986.
The performance, which took place at a public occasion, was greeted with resounding cheers and genuine gratitude. The sight of a Marine playing the national anthem on violin is even more remarkable than the rarity of the event itself.
